Originally from Miami, Florida, I embarked on a journey in counseling that began with my work as a high school teacher and graduate student. My professional path includes a clinical practicum in inpatient psychiatry, roles in inpatient substance use rehab and a university psychiatric hospital, and employment as both a psychiatric and high school social worker.
With extensive experience working with young adult women, men, and nonbinary clients, I offer a welcoming, poly/kink-friendly approach to therapy that is approachable for people in alternative lifestyles. I have substantial background in working with university students of all levels, survivors of sexual assault, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I believe deeply in the power of acceptance within the therapeutic relationship, which guides my practice of cognitive-behavioral therapy and in teaching dialectical-behavioral therapy skills. These approaches empower clients to challenge negative thoughts and flip the script on unwanted habits.
Fully licensed in Nebraska and Iowa, I am also pursuing a doctorate in clinical social work to stay at the forefront of effective clinical techniques. Academically, I teach university courses in the history and practice of social work with diverse clients. If you’re seeking a supportive, non-judgmental space to navigate your unique challenges and aspirations, I’m here to help you make meaningful, lasting changes in your life.
